Germany’s unique characteristics makes the country exciting and interesting for anyone wanting to move there. Every year thousands of students relocate to Germany, in order to further their studies and receive internationally recognised qualifications. Some of the best features of the Bavarian country, are the beautiful mountains, forests, parks, rich history and even beaches, especially the in vicinity of the North Sea. Education

In Germany, there are ample schools and universities to choose from. You can mainly opt for public, private and international schools. Some of the benefits of going for a public school includes, that usually tuition costs are cheaper, and it is one of the best place to interact with the locals and learn the language. On the other hand, private and international schools tend to be an easier option for expats and international students as they are much more flexible when it comes to using and teaching in English.

However, before your move to Germany, we recommended that you look up and contact some school well in advance before your arrival. Explore different schools and if possible also discuss with other people regarding their personal experience in that school. Speak and meet with the lecturers and if possible before you commit, visit the school. This will give you enough time to evaluate your options carefully.

Accommodation

When it comes to finding accommodation in Germany, the process could be quite a challenge, especially for first timers. Decide on your budget and commence with your search. Explore different options and decide on determinants such as whether you prefer to live in the city or country side, house or studio and all the other considerations that will help you reach to a decision.  Search primarily through websites and real estate agencies. Alternatively, you can also search on the newspapers and from the local recruiting offices. Like with finding the right university, when it comes to accommodation, it is also recommended that you settle this before your arrival, in order to save money, stress and time. Language

When it comes to speaking English in Germany, it is possible, however, also depends on the city or neighbourhood you are residing in. Many Germans speak fluent English, especially in the major cities such as Berlin, Munich and Frankfurt, however, you do find some smaller cities that are not that familiar with the language. Regardless of where you are, it is always if you can speak the language, or at least the basics of it. Apart from that, understanding and being able to speak German can help you improve your quality of life in Germany, interact with the locals and provide yourself with more opportunities.

Once you get to the country, you will realise that Germany has quite a unique lifestyle. This can be a very positive change and opportunities in the country in terms of work and studying are truly endless. However, for some, all this change might be as a shock. Prepare yourself well, accept change and be ready to adapt to your new lifestyle.
